Accessible Entry Ramp and Disability Support

The accessible entry ramp at Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University (PSBU), Phnom Penh, provides a step-free route from the outdoor campus area to the covered building walkway. The concrete ramp has a gradual slope that facilitates access for students, staff, visitors, and other campus users who use wheelchairs, walking aids, or experience reduced mobility.

The ramp is positioned directly alongside the building and connects the courtyard and parking area with the elevated covered corridor. A white metal protective railing runs along the outer side of the ramp to improve safety and provide separation from the adjacent landscaped area. The surrounding planter and vegetation integrate the accessibility feature with the existing campus environment and traditional architectural setting.

The location of the ramp close to the central courtyard and parking area provides a convenient accessible route into the university building. It forms part of PSBU’s efforts to progressively improve physical accessibility, inclusive campus infrastructure, and equitable participation in university life for persons with disabilities.

For disability-support evidence, universities may also document accessibility through a campus map identifying wheelchair ramps, accessible toilets and accessible parking, alongside other support measures such as dedicated disability services, assistive technologies, academic support and accommodations.
